Rochester Windows

Situated on the banks of the River Medway, Rochester has a history dating back centuries. The stunning Rochester Cathedral was founded in 604 and is the second oldest in England, King’s School is recognised as being the second oldest continuously running school in the world, while the 12th Century Norman keep at Rochester Castle offers breath-taking views of the city below.

For many years Rochester was a favourite of Charles Dickens, who owned nearby Gads Hill Place in Higham. The writer featured Rochester in his work more than any city, other than London. The city has a recently launched monthly market selling artisan, vintage collectables and fine food, while its Christmas market in the Castle gardens attracts visitors from all around Medway and beyond.
